Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr Adrian Lau is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon trained in primary and complex hip and knee arthroplasty. He was awarded the Ministry of Health Training Award in 2014, and completed subspecialty training in revision hip and knee surgery in the renowned Joint Replacement Institute, at the London Health Sciences Centre in Ontario Canada in 2015. He then went for a second fellowship at Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford where he gained expertise in unicompartmental knee replacements. He is currently practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital.
After completing his fellowship training in 2016, Dr Lau was a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery at Changi General Hospital, where he is also the Director of Hip and Knee Surgery. His clinical practice comprises mainly of total knee replacements, total hip replacements, complex hip and knee replacements, revision surgeries, prosthetic joint infections and periprosthetic fractures. He was part of the Ministry of Health workgroup for Valued-Driven-Outcomes in Total Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement, and was the clinical champion for the same workgroups within Changi General Hospital. He has performed many total knee and total hip replacements and is also trained to perform total hip replacements via the direct anterior approach.
He endeavors to stay up to date with the latest medical advancements and technology, and has contributed extensively to the medical literature. He also plays an active role in the education and training of junior doctors and is a recipient of numerous awards as detailed below. He has been invited locally and regionally to instruct and lecture on various topics surrounding total knee and total hip replacements.
